UK: Call for input on strategic priorities for sustainable refrigeration

The UK Institute of Refrigeration, in conjunction with the British Refrigeration Association and the Carbon Trust, is developing a strategy for sustainable low carbon refrigeration in the future and is calling for suggestions on the key issues and priorities to be addressed.

In that light, a task force with combined input from the three entities is in the process of developing a framework strategy and setting up working groups on key issues such as:
  • Skills for the future
  • Effective energy assessment models
  • Recycling and reuse of equipment
  • Industry-led safety matters

Send your input!

The Institute of Refrigeration is now welcoming suggestions from members on key topics to be addressed under the programme, as well as offers to be involved in moving topics forward.

Suggestions that will be collated for the next steering meeting may be sent to miriam@ior.org.uk by 12 October 2010.

Background

The work programme on a strategy for sustainable low carbon refrigeration in the future follows the completion of the Retail Refrigeration Road Map project earlier this year by the Institute of Refrigeration, the British Refrigeration Association and the Carbon Trust.
