At the European Commission’s side event during the UNFCCC COP19, Gudi Alkemade from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment presented the approach taken in the Netherlands for reducing HFC emissions. The instruments used range from voluntary agreements and recovery requirements before end-of-life, to the promotion of alternatives through financial incentives.
