After its merger with Erlinord into a single entity with a new name and visual identity, DSI Freezing Solutions A/S has confirmed its unwavering commitment to promoting natural refrigerants.

Following its merger with Erlinord, DSI Freezing Solutions A/S, the aspiring market leader in plate freezing and handling solutions, remains more committed than ever to promoting natural refrigerants as the best option for its plate freezers.
“We have been strongly committed to natural refrigerants for the past many years. We were the first plate freezer manufacturer to design and manufacture a plate that is specifically targeted to CO2,” said Lars Priess, CEO at DSI Freezing Solutions A/S.
Today by far the majority (+75%) of the freezers we are selling are based on either ammonia, CO2 or brine as the refrigerant. We are working on further increasing this share.”

After A/S Dybvad Stål Industri's 2017 acquisition of Erlinord A/S, the two leading manufacturers of plate freezing and handling solutions announced their merger into a single entity with a fresh new name and visual identity – DSI Freezing Solutions A/S.
Erlinord is a longtime partner of DSI in producing handling equipment for both horizontal and vertical plate freezers. The company believes that automation solutions will be required by even more customers in the future to ensure high efficiency and an optimised working environment.
The new company remarks that plate freezing in general is a highly efficient way of freezing, with overall energy consumption significantly lower compared to other freezing methods.
By developing the right handling solutions too, the new entity will be able to expand plate-freezing technology into more applications, thereby growing its business.
“We thus intend to put strong focus on further developing the handling business in close cooperation with the previous owners and the capable and dedicated team in Erlinord,” said Priess.
The merger
At the end of 2017 A/S Dybvad Stål Industri, a Danish maker of manually operated and automatic plate freezers for ammonia and CO2-based applications in the food processing industry, acquired its long-term Danish partner for handing solutions, Erlinord A/S. The cost price of the equity investment was DKK 37,931,000 (~ €5.85 million).
The companies described the change as the result of a comprehensive strategic process to prepare for international growth and to support their positions as international market leaders in plate freezing and handling solutions.

New identity to match ambition for future
The new name comes with a new visual identity designed to match DSI’s “drive and ambitious growth strategy,” the company said.
“The new name and visual identity reflect our strong performance, our delivery of high quality, and the dedication to plate freezing and handling systems that we’ve built over many years,” said Priess.
DSI also presented a new company website with more user-friendly navigation and a guide to future freezing technology.
