The Road Show, organized by one of the leading providers of cooling and heating solutions in the UK, Star Refrigeration, seems to have kept its promises: This CPD certified event, held on 24-26 September in Glasgow, Leeds and Reading, has brought users of industrial refrigeration, cooling and heating up to date on the latest technology trends and developments in environmental legislation and regulation.

The conference explored methods for improving system efficiency and reliability in various applications with case studies of completed projects on:

  • District heating and cooling (Nestle Halifax)
  • Food and dairy process cooling (Apetito, Yearsley Group)
  • Brewing & distilling (Thwaites Brewery, Guinness Brewery)

  • IT cooling (RBS Data Centre)
  • Leisure and ice (Solihull Ice Rink)
  • Temperature and controlled distribution (Tesco Livingston)
  • Total solutions (Chan Brothers)

Star's senior management team members shared their knowledge and expertise through a series of presentations covering the following issues:

About Star Refrigeration

Founded in 1970 by two mechanical engineers in Glasgow, Star Refrigeration has expanded from an industrial refrigeration company to a multi-faceted engineering group through the acquisition and development of a range of businesses that span consultancy, education, design through to commissioning and maintenance of HVACR & M&E solutions.

The company’s most recent success involved the design, development and installation of an Ammonia District Heat Pump in Norway, which uses the freezing waters of the North Sea as a renewable source with zero global warming impact to provide heating and hot water for the 60,000 people living in Drammen's homes and businesses (See related presentation on ATMOsphere Europe 2013 conference website).
