Key ammonia events in 2013

Throughout 2013, ammonia21.com will be reporting from leading refrigeration and air conditioning conferences, workshops and trade shows around the world to keep you up-to-date with the latest developments related to the use of ammonia as a natural refrigerant. We outline here an overview of some key events to add to your calendar.

January

ASHRAE Winter Conference, Dallas, USA, 26-30 January 2013: The conference’s programme will include sessions focusing on core HVAC&R systems and equipment, HVAC fundamentals and applications, standards, guidelines and codes, energy conservation, refrigeration, large building design, facility management, industrial & transportation ventilation.

AHR Expo, Dallas, USA, 28-30 January 2013: Co-sponsored and held in conjunction with the ASHRAE Winter Conference, the AHR Expo will gather over 1.800 leading manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their latest innovative products, systems, software, services and more. Moreover, nearly 100 educational sessions, workshops, certification exams and product presentations will aim to provide thousands of professionals with insights to help them improve their business.

ENEX 2013 / Smart Energy Japan 2013, Tokyo, Japan, 30 January-1 February 2013: ENEX2013 and Smart Energy Japan 2013 will be held concurrently based on the concept of a “low-carbon frontier” that contributes to the formation of a low-carbon society and the development of the energy industry.

ACREX India 2013, Mumbai, India, 7-9 March 2013: The 14th edition of ACREX India themed "Dedicated to an eco-friendly environment" will offer a perfect platform for Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and allied Building Services to showcase technologically innovative, Environmental Friendly & Energy saving and sustainable products & services to meet the ever growing, demanding market of India. 

The Indian Association of Ammonia Refrigeration (AAR) is organising a pavilion for Ammonia Refrigeration at ACREX 2013. Moreover, the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) is organising two workshops on Ammonia Refrigeration at ACREX on 9th March 2013: 1) “Latest Technologies in Safe Refrigeration Plant Design” by Eric Smith; and 2) “Efficient and Sustainable Ammonia Heat Pump Technology” by Mark Stencel.

IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference, Colorado Springs, USA, 17-20 March 2013: The event attracts a highly qualified audience of industrial refrigeration decision makers who represent hundreds of contracting firms and thousands of end user facilities from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia. A half-day CO2 training will focus on both CO2 cascade systems with ammonia and CO2 transcritical systems.

April

2nd IIR International Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain, Paris, France, 2-4 April 2013: Under the two main themes of the conference, several topics will be addressed, including storage, transportation and logistics, progress in commercial refrigeration, pharmaceutical cold chain, refrigerants and refrigeration in the future, energy efficiency, cold chain in developing countries and more.

China Refrigeration Expo, Shanghai, Republic of China, 8-10 April 2013: International exhibition for refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating and ventilation, frozen food processing, packaging and storage has been reputed as one of the leading exhibitions in HVAC&R industry for its over 20 years persistent improvement and innovation.

May

5th IIR International Conference on Ammonia Refrigeration Technology, Ohrid, Macedonia, 9-11 May 2013: The key topics of the conference will include design of modern ammonia systems and technological innovation, energy efficiency and application of ammonia refrigeration, technical and safety standards, training, public awareness of ammonia benefits.

June

ATMOsphere America 2013, Washington, USA, 17-19 June: The second edition of the ATMOsphere America conference will discuss natural refrigeration trends, latest technologies and regulatory issues in the US and Canada. More networking, more discussions and a summary report to be published right after the event will be new features for the 2013 edition.

October

Cold Chain Forum, Paris, France, 23-24 October 2013: Supported by the major professional associations the forum is a platform for information and exchanges. It brings national and international expertise to all those in the food processing and medical industries in relation to the management of refrigerated fluids and the optimization of energy processes.

ATMOsphere Europe 2013, Brussels, Belgium, October 2013 (dates to be confirmed): The 5th edition of the natural refrigeration conference and workshop will bring together key people from European policy with the suppliers and end users in the HVAC&R industry to talk about natural refrigerants as a viable solution to f-gases across Europe.

February 2014

ATMOsphere Asia 2014, Tokyo, Japan, February 3-5 2014
: The first-ever Asian ATMOsphere Conference on Natural Refrigerants will be held in Japan and will aim to help bring the Asian technology faster to global markets and international suppliers to Asia. Cutting-edge technology and latest innovations will be the main focus of the presentations and discussions between, leading end-users, suppliers, academia and policy representatives.
