10th Gustav Lorentzen conference: Early-bird registration ends on 15 April

The 10th edition of the Gustav Lorentzen Conference organised by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the Delft University of Technology and the Royal Dutch Association of Refrigeration will present an invaluable programme of international speakers appealing to both the local refrigeration and heat pump community and international delegates.

The participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest research results and advances related to ammonia and other natural working fluids in different types of systems and application areas. ammonia21.com will report live from the conference and participants will have the opportunity to meet with ammonia21.com at its booth.

Event highlights

The conference will address a number of topics related to natural working fluids. These will include:

• Water impact in ammonia systems
• Safety
• Energy efficiency in relation with used refrigerants
• Secondary coolants and ice slurries
• Natural refrigerants and oil behavior

In addition to the main conference programme, the organisers have arranged several technical tours on 28 June 2012:

• Training centre natural refrigerants PTC+ Ede: Guided workshops will include training on NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system;
• CO2 freezing and cooling plant Klaas Puul in Volendam: Tour in the refrigeration plant running with CO2;
• Prevesco in Waalwijk: Lecture and demonstration on a newly developed method for low pressure receivers for pump circulation systems;
• Ice rink Sportboulevard in Dordrecht: Guided tour and background information on ice rink operating with ammonia and equipped with heat recovery supplying a swimming pool;
• Visit to museum Boerhaave: Lecture on the background and the technical challenges that had to be overcome by Prof. dr. Heike Kamerlingh Onnes in his ambition to realise the absolute lowest temperature (-273,15 ˚C).
