IOR Seeks Nominations for J&E International Gold Medal

The deadline to submit a nomination for the prestigious award is February 15.

The U.K.-based Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) is seeking nominations for its annual Gold Medal award, sponsored by U.K. OEM J&E International.

Nominations can be submitted here. The deadline for submissions is February 15.

The J&E International Gold Medal is an internationally respected award that recognizes “the most noteworthy practical contribution” to refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology. 

Previous winners include Gustav Lorentzen, Forbes Pearson, Pega Hrnjak, Eckhard Groll and Mark McLinden. 

The award, which comes with a prize of £5,000 (US$6,798), is open to individuals or teams responsible for recent practical technology advancement in one or more of the following areas:

  • Practical applications of innovative designs
  • Refrigeration, air-conditioning or heat pump installations, developments or technologies that have made an original contribution to the field
  • Systems that demonstrate substantial potential and evidence that they will be completed successfully
  • Outstanding and significant work in a new or unusual area of design and installation

Sponsor J&E Hall International is a manufacturer of single-screw compressors and ammonia/NH3 (R717) chillers, among other systems.
