Alfa Laval gave the first showing of their brand new semi-welded heat exchanger during Chillventa in Nuremberg, hosted on 14-16 October 2014. The new Alfa Laval TK20 is developed for all main applications where high-efficiency is key. This includes: evaporators, condensers, desuperheaters, cascade duties and sub-coolers. It is optimised for use with CO2 and ammonia for both low and high pressures and will be launched in 2015.
The TK20 boasts several defining features, but most striking perhaps is its new design. However, the TK2O is not just a pretty picture; its design serves a higher purpose as the body of the TK2O has been specifically crafted to maximise energy efficiency. Due to Alfa Laval’s expert design, the TK20 both looks the part and does the job seamlessly.
Multi-purpose TK2O the answer to limitless questions
The TK20 is able to work with CO2, but it is particularly suitable for ammonia. It can work in diverse temperatures (between -47oC and 150oC) and its flexible modular design copes with fatigue stresses and ice formation expertly. It also has a low charge and a low weight and it is easy to alter the heat transfer area for altered capacities. These capabilities mean that the TK20 is able to be used in several different applications which include in the processing industry, in retail and in agriculture production.
But not only is the TK20 extremely versatile, it is also easy to use, open and clean, which adds to its serviceability. It is also incredibly flexible with configuration, which allows the heat transfer area to be modified according to the user’s idiosyncratic requirements and applications.
