This final article provides an overview of ammonia products presented and displayed at Chillventa 2012, the International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heat Pumps, which took place on 9-11 October 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany. + PHOTOS
ammonia21.com was on site at Chillventa 2012 and provides an overview of some of the companies that we spotted on the trade floor. Find also photos of products and company booths in our image gallery at the bottom of this article.
Frascold - Frascold displayed ATS open screw compressors for R717 refrigerant for applications such as cold stores, cold and processing rooms, cooling and freezing plants, compound compressor systems operating with glycol, industrial food processing plants, ice rinks, industrial air conditioning. ATS range comprises 16 models divided in 4 series covering a wide refrigerating capacity range between 10 and 470kW (2,900 rpm). It features asymmetric screw profile with optimised dimensions to guarantee higher performances.
FRITERM - FRITERM, a company specialising in the production of fin and tube heat exchangers, displayed a new NH3 Unit Cooler, with a capacity range from 1.5 to 257kW, axial fans with diameter 400, 450, 500, 630, 800 and maximum fin spacing 19mm.
FRIGOPOL - FRIGOPOL unveiled at Chillventa the new NH3 separating hood compressor type S4OPI-DLRD-13, whereby the terminal box has been acoustically optimized.
The company also presented its ammonia chiller with 3 Frigopol separating hood compressors, suitable for outdoor installation, its universal compressor racks, as well as an industrial heat pump "All In One" concept.
KIRLOSKAR – India-based KIRLOSKAR displayed its industrial refrigeration reciprocating Compressor Model - KCX Series, that is suitable for ammonia refrigerant and is offered for 140 to 980 kW capacities, 2 to 6 cylinders, modular construction, single stage, air cooled, evaporating +5 to -20.
The company also displayed an industrial refrigeration screw compressor package from its KRX Series that is suitable for ammonia refrigerant covering capacities between 50 and 1,230 kW.
Tranter - Tranter presented its ammonia evaporators and welded plate heat exchangers.
Armaturenwerk Altenburg – AWA - AWA displayed valves suitable for ammonia industrial refrigeration systems.
Güntner - Güntner showcased the industrial air cooler with a capacity range between 10 and 120 kW and suitable for ammonia, CO2 and other refrigerants.
Grundfos - The company displayed the Grundfos RC refrigerant circulation pump available for ammonia refrigerant in nominal head between 12 and 60m.
Vahterus - Vahterus showcased its shell and plate heat exchangers for cascades with ammonia and CO2, as well as its "Combined" fully welded compact solution for flooded evaporators and flooded cascades, suitable for different mediums.
Schick - Schick presented its extensive range of heat transfer fluids and refrigerants, including natural refrigerants R717, ®R723, R290. R600a and R744.
Thermofin - The manufacturer of finned heat exchangers presented at the trade show a wide range of evaporators, condensers as well as insulted coolers and penthouse coolers, all available for ammonia.
WITT - WITT displayed its HRP5040 Model GF, part of its hermetically sealed HRP refrigerant pump offering are specifically designed for use in refrigeration systems and suitable for ammonia. An integrated canned motor without a need for shaft seals allows maintenance-free operation. Top mounted inlet and outlet flanges together with an integrated vent line allow venting to the suction side without a need for additional piping or orifice plates. The open impellers are capable to deliver liquid gas mixtures without interrupting the flow, therefore WITT refrigerant pumps require the lowest possible suction head in the industry.
The company also displayed BDP2 for automatic oil return in refrigerant systems.
Cabero - Showcased were air cooled condensers with axial fans available for all refrigerants including NH3 and CO2 with CABERO calculation software as well as compact line condensers and dry coolers designed for systems demanding high capacity and performance.
GALAXAIR - GALAXAIR displayed the ADF500, a compact, light and robust oil-less air driven recovery machine for ammonia refrigerant, fitted on a trolley as standard version.
Zudek - The company presented the industrial ammonia offering, such as dual compressor ammonia chillers, ammonia heat pumps available with piston or screw compressors (refrigerated power from 100 kW to 1000 kW) and ammonia refrigerated units with inverter technology as a standard feature on the compressor motors, the condenser motor fan and oil pumps.
Stefani - With expertise in manufacturing dry coolers, remote condensers and liquid coolers, the Italian-based company showcased their industrial cooling products for food processing and storage applications, suitable for several refrigerants, including ammonia.
