Temprite, a US-based company specialising in innovative and energy-efficient components for the refrigeration industry, has added two new Series of coalescent oil separators to the ammonia21.com database. The 920 and 920R Series are serving a growing demand for components featuring full ammonia compatibility.

Temprite has fine-tuned the 920 and 920R Series coalescent oil separators to ensure ammonia compatibility. All separators in both the 920 and 920R Series are designed for 650 PSI. Temprite’s 920 and 920R Series separators are engineered to ensure refrigeration systems are clean and green, even when using ammonia.

Temprite products enhance the thermal performance of the refrigeration system, making it as energy efficient as possible and driving down installed and operating costs. Higher efficiency also reduces carbon emissions, helping users to meet local and national standards and moving them closer to desired energy certifications.

Ammonia has many environmental and cost benefits, but its use as a refrigerant poses special challenges. It is an effective cleaning agent, meaning that more dirt is removed from the system and deposited in the filter. When using ammonia, there is a need for the best oil separation and dirt removal possible or the system will not perform efficiently, resulting in repairs and increased energy costs.

Basic specifications

All 920 and 920 R Series coalescent oil separators:
  • Maintain consistent 98% oil separation efficiency down to 20% of maximum flow
  • Offer easy accessibility to the filter for changes
  • Offer Temprite standard filter technology, which removes contaminants down to 0.3 microns in size
  • Are available with or without reservoir: The 920 Series are designed for use with an external reservoir. The separators in the 920R Series have an internal reservoir, hence the “R” designation.
New: Bigger reservoir and better product design

Temprite introduces the Model 47154 Oil Reservoir with a 15 liters / 14,51 kg capacity, designed for multiplexed rack/pack systems that require extra oil. It can be paired with a 920 Series coalescent oil separator for maximum efficiency. As with the other Temprite oil reservoirs, the Model 47154 is also ammonia compatible.

In the 920 and 920R Series, Models 926, 927 928 and 926R, 927R and 928R have all been redesigned, eliminating extra weight and height and making them easier to install and maintain. The 928R redesign reduced the total weight of the separator by 1.42 kg.

About Temprite

A pioneer in the refrigeration industry, Temprite developed the first conventional oil separator, and later, the first commercially available high-efficiency coalescent oil separator. Temprite products are designed and manufactured to enable improved refrigeration system thermal efficiency by minimizing oil and dirt in the system’s evaporator. This results in shorter compressor run times that reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, providing the highest return on investment.

Each Temprite product is tested both on in-house test beds and in the field, using a variety of parameters and all Temprite components are UL, CE, CRN and CSA certified.

The Temprite plant is located in West Chicago, Illinois, USA, with distribution facilities in Tokyo, Japan; Glasgow, UK; Stuttgart, Germany; Ankara, Turkey; Bangalore, India; and Sydney, Australia. Temprite has worldwide distribution through wholesalers and direct sales to original equipment manufacturers, retailers and medical organizations, and through strategic partners in the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Turkey, India and Australia.
