From 22 to 25 March 2009, the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) will be hosting the 2009 Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition in Dallas, USA. ammonia21.com will be reporting live from this key event.

ammonia21.com will be present at and reporting from the IIAR 2009 Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition. Following the IIAR Committee and IIAR Board meetings on 22 March, the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration event will host an exhibit hall featuring products by leading ammonia refrigeration industry players, as well as a series of technical events, including end user workshops, panel discussions, presentations of formal papers and exhibitor sponsored training sessions that examine the use of natural refrigerants.

Topics discussed will include “Energy Penalties for CO2 vs. Ammonia”, “Natural Refrigerant Applications in North American Supermarkets”, and “Designing an Inherent Safer Ammonia System”, to name just a few.

The Technical Programme

Topics discussed in the various technical events will revolve around three main topics:
  • Energy Conservation: Technical papers, workshops and panels will report on the latest operating procedures and design strategies that reduce operating costs and boost the energy efficiency of systems.

  • System Maintenance/Mechanical Integrity: Workshops are scheduled that examine mechanical integrity testing programs developed by end users and outline a unique scheduling approach and set of procedures.

  • Codes & Standards: Industry experts will discuss the latest developments on codes and standards relating to the ammonia refrigeration industry, including those that are applied in countries around the world. Reports will focus on fire codes, mechanical codes, ASHRAE 15, IIAR 2 and other new IIAR-developed standards.
The Exhibition Hall

The exhibit hall will feature more than 100 displays from the leading ammonia refrigeration industry manufacturers and service providers. In addition, several exhibitors will present technomercials (exhibitor sponsored training sessions) that combine product information and training.
