Kælismiðjan Frost ehf (known as Frost) roots back to the beginning of the 1980s and has been at the forefront of Icelandic companies building and servicing refrigeration system since 1993. From 2005 the majority of the company has been controlled by it's employees and from 2006 Frost has a 30% share in the Faroese company P/F Frost.
Frost is by far the largest company of its kind in Iceland with headquarters in Akureyri, northern Iceland, as well as an affiliate in Garðabæ in the Reykjavík area. The company has taken on projects all around Iceland as well as abroad. In recent years, projects abroad have been a growing part of the operation with projects in China, South America, Poland, Russia, Africa, Norway, Denmark, Faroe Islands and more.
The company designs, supplies equipment and installs new refrigeration systems as well as servicing existing systems. Frost offers its customers the service of experienced engineers for troubleshooting and upgrading of existing systems, or for designing new systems.
Frost has designed, installed and serviced refrigeration systems for most of the larger fish processors in Iceland, as well as ice plants, prawn plants, meat and dairy producers and fishing vessels, both processing trawlers and pelagic vessels.
As well as large industrial systems as mentioned above, Frost also services some smaller commercial systems such as supermarkets, wholesalers, distribution companies, institutions and others, and offers its customers 24/7 monitoring of their systems and ensures that they meet the required standards.
