Mr Vincent Grass from Nestlé points out in his presentation that above 90 of Nestle's factories located all over the world use natural refrigerants. The current situation is a result of Nestlé's Natural Refrigerant Program that began in 1986. He goes on to discuss the possiblities for the use of HFC-free technologies to replace the other 10% of non-natural refrigerants especially for air-conditioning, such as enclosed packaged ammonia chillers, and centralised chiller water systems

The current situation is a result of Nestlé's Natural Refrigerant Program that began in 1986. He goes on to discuss the possiblities for the use of HFC-free technologies to replace the other 10% of non-natural refrigerants especially for air-conditioning, such as enclosed packaged ammonia chillers, and centralised chiller water systems for the new regional head office in Nairobi, Kenya. Training and safety is an important aspect when dealing with natural refrigerants and Mr Grass presents views on how the hurdle of lack of competences in developing countries can be overcome.
