Euroklimat, a Siziano, Italy-based chiller manufacturer, resumed “full production” on April 14, following the government-mandated shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement released on Euroklimat’s website, Managing Director Michele Bedin said that the company is working both to protect “the health of our employees and to support our customers.”
Euroklimat was one of a number of Italian HVAC&R companies that had shut down between March 20 and April 3. Some companies supporting essential activities such as food retail began reopening their facilities in early April in preparation for an expected complete reopening on April 14.
Another government decree issued on April 10 prolonged the restrictions of the previous decree until May 3. But Euroklimat, armed with letters from customers involved in “strategic activities,” received authorization to resume full production.
Bedin noted that Euroklimat has “adopted all the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our workers.”
For example, workers have received gloves and masks, must maintain a physical distance of 1m (3.3ft) from each other, and have their temperature checked twice a day. Hand sanitizing gel has also been made available.
More generally, the company has begun sanitizing the offices, toilets, and dressing rooms every day, as well as sanitizing the production line twice a week.
Addressing its customers, Euroklimat says on its website that it “will try to assist you by phone or email; for any request or information, you can contact your sales manager.”
As Italy continues to take measures to tame its COVID-19 outbreak, some natural refrigeration manufacturers, which shut down manufacturing between March 20 and April 3, have begun reopening their facilities in some cases in preparation for an expected complete reopening on April 14.
