China's Aowei spreads domestic NatRef awareness

Aowei Refrigeration Equipment held a CO2 seminar last month in Qingdao, China where it saw significant interest from participants.

The 'Aowei CO2 Refrigeration Technology Exchange Seminar' was held in Qingdao, China on 8 November.

Aowei Refrigeration Equipment Co. (Aowei) a Chinese refrigeration system supplier, held a seminar on CO2 and NH3/CO2 refrigeration systems on 8 November.

The seminar, titled the 'Aowei CO2 Refrigeration Technology Exchange Seminar', aimed to facilitate an exchange of information between attendees on the development of new CO2-based refrigeration technology.

According to the company's WeChat post, "more than 150 domestic and foreign guests from more than 10 countries including Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Argentina and Sri Lanka" attended the event, which was held at the Hilton Qingdao Jimo Hotel, in Qingdao, China.

"The main purpose of the seminar was to promote environmental protection and safety and Aowei's NH3/CO2 refrigeration systems," Shaoqin Wu, Aowei's general manager, told this website.

Wu said this was the 12th time the firm had hosted this type of event in China as well as overseas.

With the promotion of NH3/CO2 systems, the company's aim is to spread awareness and educate industry not only through seminars, but site visits as well.

"Even before this seminar, we have been talking to the participants about CO2 solutions, so they came to the conference already with some knowledge about CO2 and plans for new projects," said Wu.

"Through the seminar, 80% of our customers decided to adopt CO2 refrigeration systems. After the meeting, we had a site visit to our company and factory as well as our customer’s factories where CO2 systems were installed."

Wu says that it is through these seminars and site vists that potential customers overcome their doubts about working with CO2 technology.

"Prior to the seminar, the customers have a high recognition of the environmental protection and safety benefits of CO2. However, they also have doubts about the reliability, stability and energy efficiency of CO2. Through extensive informational exchanges and project visits, these seminars have completely dispelled these doubts and encouraged full acceptence of CO2 refrigeration technology and Aowei."
