At the 2014 China Refrigeration (CR) Exhibition in Beijing a number of international and Chinese suppliers showcased their latest ammonia products. ammonia21.com was on site to report live from the exhibitor booths with NH3 products on display. Following accidents last year linked to ammonia refrigeration systems, leading suppliers at CR 2014 stressed the importance of installing high quality and reliable product controls, proper safety measures and providing more adequate technician

From the products on display at the 24th China Refrigeration Exhibition, held from 9-11 April 2014 in Beijing, it seems that leading manufacturers and suppliers in the Chinese market are updating their technologies or extending their product ranges to meet growing market demand.

Danfoss: Danfoss exhibited a series of state-of-the-art refrigeration technologies for natural refrigerants together with their applications in China. This year, the company displayed its star product the ICF Flexline valve station. The valve is designed for both low and high pressure refrigerants and for industrial refrigeration applications. It is especially suitable for industrial refrigeration secondary cooling systems with ammonia and CO2. Also on display was ADAP-KOOL System Manager AK-SM 800, a control system for supermarkets that is accessible from a web-browser or mobile device. It ensures food safety, robust operation and energy savings for stores using conventional or natural refrigerants. Safety, accuracy and efficiency were the keywords presented by Danfoss in connection with the cold storage industry.
With the recent rapid increase in demand for additional cold storage infrastructure in China, the speed of cold storage construction reached an all time high. The industry has been challenged to insure proper refrigeration system management procedures are followed and that system safety is the highest priority”, said Christian Overgaard, President of Danfoss China.

Emerson Climate Technologies: At the booth, Emerson presented its VSM/VSS Model Vilter Single Screw compressor with radially and axially balanced main screw and pressurised seal chamber for increased reliability. The model features a star gate rotor and an electronic optical slide actuator. Vilter offers 28 models of their single screw compressors for various refrigerants including R717 (ammonia) and R290 (propane). Also on display was the Copeland Stream™ semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor for transcritical CO2 refrigeration, with a capacity range of 15-28kW.

Others exhibitors

Frascold: This year the Italian compressor manufacturer exhibited its open drive screw compressors, the ATS series, designed for NH3 (exhibited model: ATSH 1-150). The Frascold ATS screw compressors are suitable for operation with HFC refrigerants and ammonia in a wide range of applications in industrial refrigeration, process systems, air conditioning (AC), heat pumps and marine applications. 16 models are available with a refrigerating capacity range from 24 to 200kWn and a displacement capacity range from 120 to 360m3/h.

Fujian Snowman: One of the leading Chinese ice making system and refrigerating equipment manufacturers this year exhibited the largest number of ammonia screw compressor packages. The SRP1 screw compressor package on display features automatic analysis control, remote communication, improved COP and a preventive security protection system. Each screw compressor goes through rigorous performance tests to ensure product’s stability.

Yantai Moon Group: Yantai Moon Group displayed their new RCU Series screw refrigeration compressor (RCU20T) this year. Designed for pressures of 2.5MPa, the compressor is applicable for natural refrigerants R717, R1270 and R290. The system has improved seal design, integrated energy regulation control system, an optimised oil system and comprehensive security protection.
