On 21-26 August 2011, the 23rd IIR International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR) will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, bringing together experts from all refrigeration fields including ammonia technology. ammonia21.com will be reporting from the event, as well as exhibiting with a booth on the 1st floor of the Prague Congress Centre hall foyer.

The IIR ICR is a prestigious event organised every 4 years, and will bring together leading refrigeration researchers, engineers, government officials and end-users. Addressing a wide thematic field, the Congress wil deal with industry developments and trends, major scientific results, and will include an exhibition at which technical tours will be arranged.

IIR ICR Programme

On Tuesday 23 August, the congress will feature business meetings of the IIR’s 10 commissions, which will be open to all Congress participants. The 10 IIR comissions include:

Cryophysics, cryoengineering
Liquefaction & separation of gases
Cryobiology, cryomedicine
Thermodynamics & transfer processes
Commission B2: Refrigerating equipment
Food science & engineering
Refrigerated storage
Refrigerated transport
Air conditioning
Heat pumps, energy recovery

SIRAC (Sustainable Innovation in Refrigeraion and Air Conditioning) will hold a workshop on Alternative Technologies on Wednesday 24 August, billed as an interactive learning event introducing new technologies and refrigeration sustainability.

Also, included in the list of hot topics to be discussed will be low-GWP refrigerants for the future such as natural refrigerants.
