Jeremy Williams, formerly the Directing Manager and Lead Instructor, Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP), has launched a new training organization for ammonia and CO2-based industrial refrigeration, Ammonia Refrigeration Training Solutions (ARTS), also based in Garden City, Kansas (U.S.).

“I dedicated the last 14 years to the success of GCAP, GCAP's divisions, and the improvement of educating industrial operators, mechanics, technicians, engineers, and safety personnel,” said Williams in an email. “My wife and I are excited about the new adventure God has for us in creating the Ammonia Refrigeration Training Solutions, also known as ARTS.”

ARTS is focused on ammonia and CO2 industrial refrigeration operator training, and instruction on complying to federal ammonia safety regulations, specifically Process Safety Management (PSM) and the Risk Management Program (RMP). Both in-person and online options are offered. All ARTS courses include certification exams.

ARTS students largely consist of industrial operators, mechanics, technicians, engineers, and safety professionals, particularly in the industrial food industry.

ARTS is also a compliance service provider, offering audits and SOP (standard operating procedure) reviews.

ARTS is seeking equipment donations from vendors, to be used in training. In return, RTS promises to “promote you with a posting on the website and posting on multiple social media platforms.” Examples of donations include cut-aways, valves, pipe Labels, sensors, product samples and 3-D printed compressors and equipment.

ARTS noted on its website that CTI (Calibration Technologies Incorporated) has donated “thousands of dollars of essential training equipment,” including ammonia sensors and E (emergency)-stops.
